Job summary

Cape Cod Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine in Hyannis, MA is seeking an Orthopedic Testing & Outgoing Referral coordinator to support patient care, coordinate tests, and manage referrals onsite.

You will work with orthopedic surgeons, diagnostic facilities, and insurance providers, ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR and timely results. This is a non-exempt, full-time, onsite role with hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of orthopedic terminology and procedures.
• Familiarity with diagnostic imaging processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks/Epic).
• Understanding of medical insurance and referral processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals between patients, providers, diagnostics, and insurance.
• Manage outgoing referral paperwork and track status.
• Schedule and coordinate diagnostics (MRIs, CTs, X-rays, scans).
• Obtain pre-authorizations and ensure insurance guidelines.
• Enter referrals and results into the EMR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with surgeons, PAs, and staff for seamless care.
