Job summary

You will schedule imaging and tests, verify orders, obtain necessary pre-authorizations, and document in the EMR system while upholding HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum healthcare experience coordinating referrals or testing.
• Knowledge of insurance pre-authorizations and HIPAA compliance.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Experience with EMR systems and test orders.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, assistants and staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, diagnostic facilities, and insurers.
• Communicate testing instructions and follow-up plans clearly to patients.
• Ensure timely submission of referral paperwork and track status.
• Schedule and coordinate diagnostic tests (MRIs, CTs, X-rays, bone scans, EMGs, ultrasounds).
• Obtain insurance pre-authorizations when required and ensure guidelines are followed.
• Enter referrals, test orders and results into the EMR and maintain confidentiality.
