Job summary

Wellstar is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide high-quality patient care in casting, bracing and orthotics under physician guidance. The role collaborates with orthopedic surgeons to ensure timely education and assessment of patient needs, and supports brace fitting for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with suture removal, discharge tasks, and maintaining supply levels within budget.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CMA or Orthopedic Technician certification preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program is required.
• BLS certification required; basic life support skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with casting, bracing and orthotics under physician direction.
• Support brace fitting and application; supervise ancillary staff as needed.
• Assist ambulatory intake, rooming patients and discharge information promptly.
• Monitor supplies and stay within the annual budget; sign off on orders.
• May fill CMA duties during staffing shortages; ensure compliance with safety standards.
