Job summary

Ortholonestar is seeking an experienced Cast Technician to apply, maintain, and remove casts for patients with fractures or orthopedic conditions. You will educate patients on proper cast care and ensure a safe, hygienic environment for all procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, monitoring patients, documenting procedures, and supporting physicians during exams or surgeries as needed. Strong attention to detail and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Cast Technician certification preferred.
  • Healthcare/orthopedic setting experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and orthopedic conditions.
  • Excellent communication and careful instruction to patients.
  • Ability to stand long periods and assist with mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and remove casts according to physician orders.
  • Prepare casting materials (plaster, fiberglass, bandages).
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during casting.
  • Educate patients on cast care and precautions.
  • Document casting procedures accurately in records.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and sterilization.
  • Assist with pre-procedure assessments and examinations.
