Job summary

Midland-Health-2 is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to support orthopedic procedures in a full-time setting. The role requires preparation of the surgical field, instrument handling, and coordination with the surgical team to ensure patient safety.

Ideal candidates will have CST certification, completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, and experience in orthopedic surgery is strongly preferred. This position includes on-call rotation for trauma and after-hours cases.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Orthopedic surgical experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient positioning and surgical site verification.
• Assist with prepping and draping the surgical field.
• Ensure all instruments, implants, and equipment are available and functioning.
• Assist with controlling bleeding using cautery, clamps, or ties.
• Assist with deep and superficial wound closure.
• Pass instruments efficiently and accurately.
• Assist with drilling, reaming, suctioning, irrigation, and cutting sutures.
• Assist with reduction, positioning, and implant support in orthopedic cases.
• Communicate effectively with surgical team.
• Participate in on-call rotation for trauma and after-hours cases.
