Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads by delegating and supervising safe nursing care by staff.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family, and community services for discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Utilizes resources to deliver quality, cost-effective care.
• Maintains clinical competencies and required trainings (BLS, ACLS/PALS).
• Serves as role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibility as delegated.
