Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence to deliver direct patient care and lead nursing activities on the unit.

You will supervise, educate, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care from admission to discharge, including planning with aging populations and diverse cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the State of Rhode Island.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
• Experience with aging processes and life-span care beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads by delegating and supervising nursing tasks.
• Evaluates patient care effectiveness and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team and patient/family for discharge planning.
• Provides teaching based on patient/family needs.
• Participates in unit quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintains clinical competencies per credentialing standards and BLS/ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
• Acts as role model/preceptor to new graduates and junior staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
