Job summary

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists in Spokane, WA, is seeking a Supplemental Medical Assistant to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team.

The Medical Assistant will perform general MA duties, assist with procedures, and maintain accurate records in the EHR. This is a part-time position with 20 hours per week, consisting of two 10-hour shifts. Weekends are closed and paid holidays are offered.

Qualifications

• High School or better education required or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred and Medical Assistant Registration required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Educate pre/post-operative patients per Provider's instructions.
• Draws and prepares injections, labels, and records in EHR.
• Assist Providers with procedures such as casting/splints and suture removal.
• Open and prep exam rooms, stock supplies, and sterilize instruments between patients.
• Complete medical history and update surgical information for post-operative patients.
• Prepare charts with necessary documents and review prior notes for the day.
• Refill medications per provider protocols and direct questions to the provider.
• Order tests (X-rays, CT, US, MRI, lab draws) as requested by providers.
