Job summary

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists in Spokane, WA is seeking a Supplemental Medical Assistant to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team. The MA will perform routine duties, assist with procedures, and maintain accurate records in the EHR alongside Providers and RNs.

The role is part-time (20 hours/week, 10-hour shifts), with no weekends, no night shifts, and paid holidays off. Certification and BLS are required or preferred as stated; great benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or better.
• 1–2 years experience in a similar role, preferably orthopedics.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Educate pre/post-operative patients per Provider's instructions.
• Draws and prepares injections and records in EHR.
• Assist Providers with procedures such as casting/splints and removal of sutures/staples.
• Open and prep exam rooms, stock and clean rooms and autoclave instruments.
• Complete medical history and update surgical information for post-operative patients.
• Prepare charts and gather documents for day-of-surgery.
• Refill medications per provider protocols.
• Order tests (X-rays, CT, US, MRI, labs) per provider requests
