Job summary

LeadingAge Virginia seeks an Orthopedic Physician to deliver comprehensive orthopedic care within an interdisciplinary team and under the supervision of the Chief of Surgical Services.

The position requires an MD or DO with current unrestricted US licensure, and board certification where applicable, plus valid VA credentialing. Duties include inpatient/outpatient care, hospital rounds, and participation in clinical protocols and education of residents and students.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship or eligible under VA policy
• MD/DO degree from an approved school
• Current unrestricted license to practice in US
• Residency training leading to board eligibility
• English proficiency (spoken and written)
• Preferred board certification

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Orthopedic care in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Perform orthopedic surgery in operating and minor surgery rooms
• Conduct hospital rounds and outpatient clinics
• Educate physicians, staff, residents and students in orthopedic principles
• Participate in clinical research protocols and multi-center studies
• Assist residents and students in abstracts for presentations
• Coordinate administrative duties for the Orthopedic Section
• Work schedule includes weekdays with potential on-call coverage
