Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Orthopedic Unit on nights at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The position is full-time, 36 hours/week with nights from 7:00pm to 7:30am and every other weekend.

The nurse will perform patient assessments, coordinate plans of care, educate patients and families, participate in quality improvement, and maintain current nursing practice knowledge. Illinois RN license and ADN are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: ADN required; BSN strongly preferred.
• Illinois nursing license active.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessment and collects health data involving patient, family and other providers.
• Coordinates patient plan of care to ensure interventions are safe, timely and appropriate.
• Communicates clearly with patients, families, and care teams in person, by phone and in writing.
• Individualizes patient and family teaching based on assessment to meet learning needs.
• Participates in evaluating nursing practice quality through quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.
