Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for NT4, a 41-bed unit with duties across total joint, trauma, urology, and ortho/medical-surgical care. The role requires RN licensure in Illinois and an active BLS within 30 days.

A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered for external applicants with 3-year commitment. The nurse will perform assessments, implement care plans, document care accurately, and coordinate with physicians to educate patients and families on wound care, mobility and transition

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Education: Nursing Diploma; Associate‘s Degree.
• Work Experience: RN>1yr.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team.
• Completes initial patient assessment and develops a plan of care consistent with unit standards and patient needs.
• Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Coordinates with physicians and surgeons on patient care for ortho and medical/surgical patients.
• Educates patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management and discharge needs.
