Job summary

Midland Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator for the orthopedic practice to oversee incoming referrals and ensure timely processing and scheduling.

You will work with referring providers, patients, and clinical teams to track referrals from receipt through appointment, resolve barriers, and communicate next steps. The role emphasizes outreach to strengthen relationships and improve patient access.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• Orthopedic or specialty practice experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and referral processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all inbound referrals to the orthopedic practice and track from receipt to scheduling.
• Identify appropriate provider based on diagnosis and scheduling guidelines.
• Maintain referral tracking and follow up with patients not contacted or scheduled.
• Communicate with referring offices about status, records, and authorizations.
• Support phone operations with guidance on scheduling and patient placement.
• Engage in community outreach to strengthen provider relationships.
