Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency in Houston, TX seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to provide medically prescribed therapy, relieve pain, and restore function. Applicants must hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and a valid PT license; BLS certification is required or preferred, with experience in pelvic health considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required after 2015.
• Experience: Relevant experience with details to be specified.
• Licenses & Certifications: Licensed Physical Therapist, Basic Life Support (BLS), and certifications in Pelvic Health are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and conducts therapy programs using exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities as prescribed by physicians.
• Performs diagnostic and functional tests on muscles, nerves, and joints.
• Guides patients in active/passive exercises, muscle reeducation, gait, and functional training with equipment.
• Uses devices like ultrasound, diathermy, whirlpools, and heat packs.
• Provides patient education on postural control, use of mobility aids, and therapeutic exercises to continue at home.
• Performs initial and re-evaluations, documenting progress for team review.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and volunteers, and participate in training students and staff.
