Job summary

IBJI is seeking a Physician Assistant to support orthopedic physicians in outpatient clinics and hospital settings. You will provide direct patient care, assist in surgeries, perform injections and procedures, and coordinate care across the continuum from clinic to OR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with completed residency.
• Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Active Certification from NCCPA and Illinois Licensure.
• Two years of experience in a physician office or hospital; orthopedic surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in outpatient and hospital settings following established protocols.
• Provide direct patient care in clinic and operating room environments.
• Perform injections, joint aspirations, and basic procedures under supervision.
• Order tests, interpret results, and develop patient treatment plans with physician approval.
• Coordinate patient care between office and hospital and manage discharge communications.
• Maintain quality patient documentation in the EHR and ensure timely operative reporting.
