Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability. You will develop individualized therapy programs, conduct initial evaluations, and record progress, using modalities and assistive devices as directed by physicians.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through active and passive exercises, gait training, and providing supervision and training to staff and students in physical therapy

Qualifications

• DPT required and licensure to practice physical therapy in Texas.
• BLS certification required or preferred.
• Pelvic health certifications encouraged.

Job description

Role Overview:
The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability after disease, injury, or loss of a body part.
They develop individualized therapy programs using exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities as directed by physicians.
The role involves conducting diagnostic tests, guiding patients through active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, gait, and functional training with equipment like ultrasound machines and generators.
They instruct patients on postural control, therapeutic exercises, and proper use of assistive devices.
Initial and ongoing evaluations and progress recording are essential, with opportunities to supervise staff and participate in training students and staff in physical therapy techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:
A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) is required after certain dates.
Candidates should have experience in physical therapy, with a preference for specific experience types and licensure as a licensed Physical Therapist.
Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), pelvic health, and licensure are required or preferred.
Additional certifications in pelvic health are considered advantageous.
Must obtain required licensure and certifications within 90 days of hire.
