Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the 10AC Orthopedics unit in Pittsburgh, on-site and part-time. The role supports nursing staff, assists with activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and patient transport while documenting care in the electronic medical record.

CPR certification is required per policy. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to follow instructions, read and write

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care including activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake & output, meal consumption, height/weight, and glucose testing.
• Perform point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, transport patients and their medical records, and document oxygen use.
• Assist with exams, treatments and procedures; support early mobilization and ambulation protocols.
• Participate in unit quality and patient-satisfaction initiatives and maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
