Ossmidaho in Idaho is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator for our Orthopedic practice. The role focuses on answering incoming calls to schedule initial appointments and processing referrals, working with the triage nurse, and following physician protocols and insurance guidelines.

The position requires scheduling skills, HIPAA compliance, and familiarity with EHRs, insurance terminology, and billing processes. The role may involve travel between locations and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology is required.
• One year of prior surgery scheduling in a healthcare setting required.
• HIPAA practices and EHR experience preferred.
• Experience with data entry and standard office equipment.
• Excellent communication with patients and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Schedule new patients within 48 hours of initial contact.
• Reach out to patients upon receipt of referral within 48 hours.
• Request and track medical records from primary/referring physicians.
• Follow up with patients and document attempts.
• Coordinate with triage nurse and provider to review records for potential procedures.
• Contact referring physician if unable to reach patient after 3 attempts.
• Verify insurance coverage, including benefits and eligibility.
• Assist coworkers as directed by supervisor.
