Job summary

SCA Health in Encinitas, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff, helping maintain efficient patient flow and delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced orthopedic environment. You will prepare exam rooms, document patient histories in the EMR, assist with minor procedures, coordinate in-office imaging, and manage patient education and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of CMA/RMA program preferred.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience; orthopedic/surgical setting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
• Record patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EMR.
• Apply and remove orthopedic devices under provider supervision.
• Provide patient education on preoperative and postoperative care and medications.
• Assist with in-office imaging coordination (X-rays, MRIs) and timely follow-up.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
• Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Support surgical scheduling and preoperative preparation as needed.
