Job summary

SCA Health in Encinitas, CA seeks a patient-focused Medical Assistant to support clinicians in an orthopedic setting. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with minor procedures, record histories and vital signs in the EMR, and coordinate pre/postoperative care.

Responsibilities include managing imaging coordination, maintaining a clean, stocked clinic, and handling scheduling and patient records while upholding HIPAA/OSHA standards. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; CMA/RMA program preferred.
• 2–3 years clinical experience; orthopedic/surgical setting a plus.
• Proficiency in EMR and basic computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; multitasking ability.
• Bilingual skills a plus (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient examinations and minor procedures.
• Record patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints in EMR.
• Apply and remove orthopedic devices under provider supervision.
• Provide preoperative and post-operative education and medication instructions.
• Assist with in-office imaging coordination and follow-up.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
• Perform scheduling, phone duties, and manage patient records.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation as needed.
