Job summary

SCA Health in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced orthopedic/surgical setting. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with exams, manage patient records, and coordinate imaging and pre/post-operative care.

The role requires a CMA/RMA or equivalent preferred, 2–3 years of clinical experience, EMR proficiency, strong communication, and the ability to multitask. Competitive hourly rate in the US, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA/RMA or equivalent CMA preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a clinical setting; orthopedic or surgical experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
• Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately in the EMR.
• Apply and remove orthopedic devices such as splints, braces, and casts under provider supervision.
• Provide patient education on preoperative and postoperative care, and medication instructions.
• Assist with in-office imaging coordination (e.g., X-rays, MRIs) and ensure timely follow-up.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
• Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
• Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation as needed.
