Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with examinations and minor procedures, and maintain accurate EMR records.

You will educate patients on preoperative and postoperative care, coordinate imaging, and help manage scheduling while ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance. A CMA/RMA and 2–3 years of clinical experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant program (CMA/RMA) preferred.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience; orthopedic/surgical a plus.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
• Record patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EMR.
• Apply and remove orthopedic devices under provider supervision.
• Provide preoperative and post-operative care education and medication instructions.
• Assist with in-office imaging coordination (X-rays, MRIs) and follow-up.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
• Perform scheduling, phone handling, and patient record management.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation.
