Job summary

OrthoTexas Physicians & Surgeons, PLLC is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in an orthopedic setting. The MA will prepare patients for examinations, assist with casts, bracing, wound care, and coordinate appointments within a fast-paced clinic.

The role requires strong patient communication, accurate documentation in EMR, and adherence to HIPAA. Prior orthopedic experience and MA certification are preferred; CPR is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Current CPR certification (CPR, BLS).
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred.
• Three years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits, assist with examinations and procedures.
• Document in EMR and manage patient records within required timeframes.
• Schedule appointments, tests, and surgeries following protocols.
• Maintain exam rooms and medical supplies, and ensure safety and cleanliness.
