Job summary

OrthoTexas Physicians & Surgeons, PLLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a fast-paced orthopedic setting. You will prepare patients, assist with exams and procedures, document in EMR, and coordinate schedules and education before and after visits.

The role requires MA certification (preferred), CPR, and experience in orthopedics or medical office. Flexibility for occasional travel between multiple clinic sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Current CPR certification (CPR, BLS)
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred
• Three years medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visit by directing/accompanying patients to exam or X-ray room and assisting with examinations.
• Interviews patient and records medical histories and may order x-rays per provider order.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations as directed.
• Perform dressing changes, vital signs, blood draws, casts/splints, sutures, labs as directed and document in EMR.
• Coordinate scheduling, follow-ups, and travel between sites as needed.
• Maintain exam rooms and inventory, ensure proper cleaning and sterilization.
