Job summary

Texas Orthopedics seeks a Medical Assistant for our South Austin and Northwest Austin clinics. You will support physicians with patient care, including casting and bracing, perform injections, vital signs, and EMR documentation in a high-volume orthopedic setting.

Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient privacy are essential. The role involves travel between clinic locations and collaboration with orthopedics staff for efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA certificate preferred.
• One year experience in health care setting, preferably orthopedics.
• Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and be capable of communicating with physicians, staff and outside consultants.
• Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements, including OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge of computer systems and EMR usage.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with patient care including casting, bracing and other duties.
• Prepare injections, take vital signs, complete H&P questionnaires and dressing changes.
• Maintain a timely, safe clinic respecting patient privacy and dignity.
• Document patient-related information in EMR and coordinate with staff.
• Travel between clinic locations as needed.
