Job summary

Resurgens Orthopaedics is seeking a Medical Assistant/Orthopedic tech to provide patient care support and act as a bridge between patients and licensed providers. You will assist with examinations, take histories, prepare rooms, and help with imaging orders while maintaining EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and CPR/BLS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Certified Orthopedic Technician preferred.
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred and three years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for visit and assists with positioning.
• Interviews patients, records histories, and may obtain imaging results.
• Assists providers during examinations and procedures, performs dressing changes, takes vital signs, and prepares medications.
• Generates orders for prescriptions, imaging, DME, etc., and inputs into EMR.
• Schedules follow-up appointments, tests, and injections with providers.
• Coordinates surgery scheduling, including clearances and precertifications.
• Updates patient records in EMR and communicates with providers.
• Triages patient correspondence and maintains exam rooms and supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments; performs other duties as assigned by providers.
