Resurgens Orthopaedics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in an orthopedic environment. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist with casts, bracing, and wound care, and document accurately in EMR.

The role emphasizes patient flow, appointment coordination, and pre/post-visit education. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, MA certification or program, and CPR, with orthopedic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MA certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or accredited MA program preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Current CPR certification (CPR, BLS).
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred.
• Three years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for visit, directs to exam or X-ray room, and assists with positioning.
• Interviews patient and records medical histories; may order x-rays per protocol.
• Assists providers during examinations as directed.
• Performs dressing changes, vitals, blood draws, and casts/splints as needed.
• Prepares medication prescriptions and orders for x-rays, rehab, DME, etc.
• Documents in EMR, updates patient history within 24 hours of visit.
• Schedules appointments, tests, procedures, and surgeries per protocols.
• Remotely speaks with patients; follows up on test results and post-operative care.
• Maintains and cleans exam rooms and sterilizes instruments.
