Job summary

OrthoAtlanta in Marietta, GA is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant / X-Ray Support to join our growing practice. You will function as a Medical Assistant and assist with x-ray duties, ensuring patient comfort and efficient flow in a busy clinic.

Responsibilities include EMR intake, coordinating lab tests and surgical clearances, and providing compassionate patient care in a collaborative team environment aimed at high-quality orthopedic outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited CNA, CMA, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience).
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Medical Assistant and assist with X-ray duties when needed.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing and privacy.
• Review patient registration details and complete EMR intake documentation.
• Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries.
• Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues.
• Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed.

What You'll Do

As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant / X-Ray Support at OrthoAtlanta, you’ll:

• Primarily function in a Medical Assistant capacity while also assisting with x-ray duties when needed.
• Guiding Patients : Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing, and ensure comfort and privacy
• Gathering Information : Accurately review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation
• Coordinating Care : Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries
• Communication and Follow-Up : Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues
• DME Support : Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed
• Are highly organized and detailed, ensuring every patient interaction is smooth and thorough

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
• Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
