Job summary

OrthoAtlanta, a leading Georgia orthopedic and sports medicine practice, is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant for our Fayetteville clinic. This on-site, full-time role supports physicians and collaborates with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality patient care.

You will escort patients, manage EMR intake, coordinate care for surgeries and tests, and assist with DME fitting. A strong patient-first attitude and prior medical office experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent).
• 1+ year medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred).

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with dressing/undressing.
• Review patient registration details and collect forms for EMR intake.
• Prepare surgical orders and schedule labs and diagnostic procedures.
• Manage patient callbacks, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Demonstrate proper fitting of durable medical equipment (DME).

What You'll Do

As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant at OrthoAtlanta, you’ll:

• Guiding Patients : Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing, and ensure comfort and privacy
• Gathering Information : Accurately review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation
• Coordinating Care : Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries
• Communication and Follow-Up : Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues
• DME Support : Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed
• Are highly organized and detailed, ensuring every patient interaction is smooth and thorough
• Stay calm and efficient in a busy, high-energy clinic setting
• Communicate with professionalism, empathy, and clarity

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
• Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of professionalism and patient confidentiality
