Job summary

OrthoAtlanta, LLC in Covington, GA is hiring an Orthopedic Medical Assistant for a full-time, on-site role. You will escort patients, help with exam room preparation, and support EMR intake and care coordination in a busy orthopedic setting.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and completed CNA/CMA/Ortho Tech programs (or equivalent experience). 1+ year medical office experience, EMR (Epic) familiarity, and strong communication are preferred.

• Graduate of CNA, CMA or Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience) required.
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing and ensure comfort and privacy.
• Review patient registration details, collect forms, and complete EMR intake documentation.
• Prepare surgical orders, schedule labs/tests, obtain results, and manage medical clearances.
• Handle patient callbacks, prescriptions and referrals; monitor physician queues.
• Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of DME like braces and soft goods.
• Maintain organization and professionalism in a busy, growth-focused clinic.

What You’ll Do

As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant at OrthoAtlanta, you’ll:

• Guiding Patients : Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing, and ensure comfort and privacy
• Gathering Information : Accurately review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation
• Coordinating Care : Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries
• Communication and Follow-Up : Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues
• DME Support : Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed
• Are highly organized and detailed, ensuring every patient interaction is smooth and thorough
• Stay calm and efficient in a busy, high-energy clinic setting
• Communicate with professionalism, empathy, and clarity

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
• Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of professionalism and patient confidentiality
