Job summary

OrthoAtlanta is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant in Austell, GA. You will support physicians, escort patients, manage EMR intake, and coordinate tests and clearances in a fast-paced clinic.

Ideal candidates have CMA/CNA or ortho tech training and at least 1 year of medical office experience, with Epic EMR familiarity and strong communication skills. On-site, full-time with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a approved certified nursing assistant, certified medical assistant, or ortho technician program (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in a medical office and familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities are required.
• Professionalism and patient confidentiality are essential for daily operations.
• Experience with Epic EMR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure comfort and privacy.
• Review patient registration details, collect forms, and complete EMR intake.
• Prepare surgical orders, schedule tests, obtain results, and manage surgical clearances.
• Handle patient callbacks, prescriptions, referrals, and physician queues.
• Demonstrate proper fitting and use of DME such as braces.
• Maintain organization and calm efficiency in a busy clinic.

What You’ll Do

As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant at OrthoAtlanta, you’ll:

• Guiding Patients : Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing, and ensure comfort and privacy
• Gathering Information : Accurately review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation
• Coordinating Care : Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries
• Communication and Follow-Up : Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues
• DME Support : Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed
• Are highly organized and detailed, ensuring every patient interaction is smooth and thorough
• Stay calm and efficient in a busy, high-energy clinic setting
• Communicate with professionalism, empathy, and clarity

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
• Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of professionalism and patient confidentiality
