OrthoVirginia is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and the clinical team across our orthopedic care pathways. You’ll prepare exam rooms, welcome and room patients, record vital signs and medical history, and help coordinate follow-up care and surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and ensure clinical areas are ready for patients and providers.
• Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document relevant medical history and information.
• Support physicians and clinical team members with patient care throughout the visit.
• Educate patients on orthopedic care and proper use of orthopedic appliances.
• Enter physician-directed orders for services such as X-rays and physical therapy.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments, post-operative visits, diagnostic studies, and other patient care needs.
• Assist with surgery scheduling, including coordinating pre-operative testing, therapy, and pre- and post-operative equipment.
• Help manage patient flow to support an efficient and positive experience for patients and providers.
• Respond to patient calls, triage questions and concerns, and address issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam, treatment, and bracing rooms.
