Job summary

OrthoVirginia is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant (Clinical Team Member) to join our orthopedic care team. In this role, you will support physicians and clinical staff by providing exceptional patient care, coordinating clinic activities, and ensuring efficient daily operations.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with orthopedic providers across multiple locations, including Richmond, while delivering outstanding patient experiences in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or registration, or eligibility per state requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Previous healthcare or patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain exam rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, height, weight, and other clinical information.
• Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures as directed.
• Enter physician-directed orders, including imaging studies and therapy referrals.
• Provide patient education on treatment plans, cast/brace care, and orthopedic appliances.
• Coordinate patient flow and scheduling to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Maintain clean, stocked treatment rooms and comply with safety protocols.
