Job summary

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance (TOA) is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our clinics across Tennessee. You will work with clinical and administrative teams to ensure patient care runs smoothly and to prepare patients for examinations.

Requirements include at least one year of MA experience (orthopaedic a plus), a strong patient focus, CPR certification, and flexibility. You will assist with injections, X-rays, and charting, and help schedule tests and surgeries.

Qualifications

• At least one year of medical assistant experience (orthopaedic experience a plus).
• Strong focus on patient experience and compassion.
• Energetic and able to manage patient flow without compromising care.
• Flexible and reliable with schedule changes.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients from waiting room to exam room.
• Take patient histories, chief complaints, vital signs, and prepare for examination.
• Review patient charts for completeness.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for procedures (aspirations, injections, X-rays).
• Administer injections and manage dressings as directed.
• Prepare prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Coordinate patient surgeries including scheduling and pre-certification.
• Respond to patient and payor calls.
• Order and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Maintain patient files in the EHR and document as necessary.
• Participate in professional development activities.
