Job summary

Resurgens Orthopaedics in Austell, GA is looking for a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a fast-paced orthopedic environment. You will prepare patients, assist with casts and bracing, take vitals, and maintain EMR documentation.

Responsibilities include scheduling, patient education, and coordinating tests and referrals. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and adherence to HIPAA. Some travel between sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or completion of an accredited MA program preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems.
• Current CPR certification (CPR, BLS).
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred.
• Three years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and direct to exam or X-ray room.
• Interviews patient and records medical histories; may order x-rays.
• Assist health care providers during examinations as directed.
• Dressing changes, vital signs, blood draws, casts/splints, sutures removal.
• Prepare and orders prescriptions and x-ray/rehab/DME orders.
• Document in EMR and update patient histories within 24 hours.
• Schedule appointments and follow-up care per protocols.
• Maintain and stock exam rooms; sterilize instruments.
• Occasional travel between site locations.
