Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills and ability to work with EMR and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by taking and recording vital signs and chief complaint.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
• Coordinates and manages patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Provides clerical support including medical records, labs, and billing information.
• Maintains clean exam rooms and sterilizes equipment; follows safety guidelines.
• Orders supplies and handles medication-related tasks.
• Develops effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Completes onboarding/orientation activities and simulation training as needed.
• Works under the supervision of providers and coordinates with staff and external contacts.
