Job summary

Ashe Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to serve as the main link between patients and the provider in the Ashe Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine clinic. The role involves delivering care and related services to patients in the clinic environment.

Education includes completion of a Medical Assisting program with CMA/CCMA certification and BLS; one year of medical office experience is required, orthopedic/sports medicine experience is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Completed Medical Assisting program or equivalent training.
• Current CMA or CCMA certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• One or more years of medical office experience required.
• Orthopedic and/or Sports Medicine office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs and patient observations.
• Prepare patients and assist the provider.
• Assist with casting, sterile procedures, and diagnostic procedures.
• Collect and process specimens.
• Maintain exam and treatment areas and patient flow.
• Communicate with patients by phone and with providers.
