Job summary

University Orthopedics in Massachusetts is seeking a DME Fitter/Orthopedic Technician Float to support physicians and care teams. You will fit pre-operative braces and crutches, apply casts, and educate patients on insurance and responsibilities.

The role requires at least 1 year of orthopedic or DME experience, the ability to travel to all sites, and strong attention to detail. MA PTA/OTA/ATC license is preferred but not required; expected collaboration with billing and patient care staff.

Qualifications

• 1 year of orthopedic medical experience and/or DME experience.
• Must be able to travel to all sites.
• MA license as PTA/OTA/ATC preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
• Strong reading and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and flow, fit braces and apply casts.
• Educate patients on insurance plans and financial responsibility.
• Document patient details for billing and DME claims.
• Assist with orthopedic procedures and patient education on equipment use.
• Maintain stocked cast and exam rooms; assist with supplies.
• Stay current with orthopedic care trends; other duties as assigned.
• Hours subject to patient volume and schedule needs.
