Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Certified DME Specialist/Medical Assistant to support our orthopedic care team. The role focuses on fitting, adjusting, and educating patients on durable medical equipment, braces, splints, and related devices, while also performing standard MA duties such as patient intake and room preparation.

The ideal candidate has CDME certification, at least two years as a Medical Assistant, and experience with DME fitting or casting.

Qualifications

• CDME certification or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Minimum of one year of experience in DME fitting, orthopedic support, casting, or a related clinical setting preferred.
• Orthopedic clinical experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate; comfortable working in Windows; Epic and MotionMD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fit, measure, size, and adjust DME and orthopedic devices per physician orders.
• Apply, adjust, and remove orthopedic braces, splints, supports, and other devices as directed.
• Assist with orthopedic casting and splinting procedures.
• Admit and room patients; obtain vitals and medical history; document in EMR.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
