Job summary

Ochsner Health Meridian is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient safety and deliver basic care under licensed nurse supervision. You will monitor patients, communicate care needs, and help maintain a clean, safe care environment.

Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent, hospital/telemetry experience, and current CNA certification with BLS and CPI to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supports plan of care under the nurse's supervision.
• Maintains a clean and safe patient care area.
• Provides age-appropriate patient care.
• Communicates patient needs to staff and families.
• Completes documentation of patient tasks.
• Adapts interactions to patient privacy and consent.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
