Job summary

Ochsner Health is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under licensed nurse supervision. The role requires CNA certification, BLS within 30 days of hire, and CPI within 30 days.

You will assist with plan of care, maintain a safe patient environment, document care tasks, and communicate effectively with patients and families. Strong computer and communication skills, organizational ability, and flexibility to work a 24/7 schedule are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current CNA certification required; obtain BLS within 30 days of hire; CPI within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to patients’ ages.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff.
• Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the patient population, respecting privacy and consent, and adapting explanations as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
