Job summary

Ochsner is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to assist with patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, communicating with patients and families, and documenting care tasks.

Qualified candidates should have a CNA credential, BLS within 30 days, CPI within 30 days, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred experience includes hospital and telemetry settings.

• Flexibility to work varying hours including 24/7, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supports plan of care delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient care environment.
• Provides care based on patient age and related criteria.
• Communicates needs to patients, families and staff; documents tasks.
• Adapts interactions for privacy and appropriate service explanations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by nursing staff.
