Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to assist with basic patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will help maintain patient safety, monitor condition changes, and communicate effectively with the care team.

Qualified candidates will have a CNA certification and the ability to obtain BLS and CPI within 30 days of hire. Hospital and telemetry experience is preferred, with the option to work flexible shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital and telemetry experience preferred.
• Current CNA certification required; BLS and CPI to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
