Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans, LA seeks a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support patient care under licensed nursing supervision. You will help maintain safety, assist with activities of daily living, and communicate with patients, families, and staff.

Preferred applicants have a high school diploma or equivalent, hospital/telemetry experience, and CNA certification with BLS and CPI to be completed within 30 days of hire. This role emphasizes compassionate, reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population and respects privacy.
