Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking an Orthopaedic Cast Room Technician for the Lincoln Park Outpatient Center to assist in the application and removal of casts and splints, manage supplies, and support the care team.

The role requires a High School Diploma, BLS certification, and prior cast room or orthopedic office experience; you will train residents and coordinate equipment maintenance while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; two years of college or technical training preferred.
• Certification by the National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Two years of hospital splint/cast room or orthopedic physician’s office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in application and removal of casts and splints.
• Order and maintain orthopaedic supplies.
• Prepare and operate traction equipment as requested.
• Maintain inventory and par levels of clinic supplies.
• Document changes in EMR or paper chart.
• Train residents and students in cast application.
• Support safe environment and participate in QA goals.
