Qualifikationen

• State licensure in athletic training is required.
• Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an athletic training program is required.

Aufgaben

• Oversee prevention, assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation and counseling of athletic injuries.
• Review, obtain and order diagnostic studies under physician direction.
• Obtain patient history including injury, past medical history and medications.
• Perform physical examinations including ROM, strength testing and special tests.
• Provide rehabilitation education including ROM, stretching and strengthening.
• Independently educate patients and families.
• Assist physicians with in-office procedures.
• Generate orders for imaging and referrals.
• Maintain wound care and apply splints/casts as needed.
• Fit and educate use of durable medical equipment and gait aids.
• Triage patient messages and coordinate appointments.
• Record vitals and complete documentation per OSUWMC standards.
• Collect lab specimens and venipuncture.
• Opportunity to pursue Orthopedic Technologist certification.
