Job summary

Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking an Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant to join our Surgical Services team in Exeter, NH. You will assist in the OR as a first and second assistant, perform inpatient rounds, ED consults, and participate in perioperative care to support patient-centered outcomes.

Qualified candidates hold a Master's in an accredited NP/PA program, NH license or eligibility, NCCPA certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited NP/PA program.
• New Hampshire license (or eligible).
• National NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification.
• 1–3 years of direct surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Surgical & OR: Serve as 1st and 2nd surgical assistant in the Operating Room.
• Patient Care & Rounding: Conduct inpatient rounds, manage follow-up care, perform ED consults, and write progress notes.
• Clinical Management: Perform health assessments, establish differential diagnoses, order/evaluate diagnostic studies, and manage therapeutic procedures.
• Prescribing: Prescribe and regulate medications per NH Board of Pharmacy/Nursing guidelines.
• Quality & Improvement: Review quality/efficiency metrics, lead team improvement efforts, and support specialty certification initiatives.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive surgical care across the perioperative continuum-including inpatient rounding, Emergency Department consults, and OR first-assist responsibilities.
