Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Exeter Hospital seeks an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to support perioperative patient care. The role includes inpatient rounds, ED consults, and OR first-/second-assist duties under surgeon supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in NP or PA with 1–3 years of related surgical experience and NH licensure or eligibility. The position emphasizes collaboration, high-quality care, and compliance with NH guidelines.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of directly related surgical experience.
• Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current New Hampshire license (or eligible).
• NP: National certification + RNFA program completion & required OR hours; PA: National certification via NCCPA.
• Eligibility for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges at Exeter Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Serve as 1st and 2nd surgical assistant in the Operating Room.
• Conduct inpatient rounds, manage follow-up care, perform ED consults, and write progress notes.
• Perform health assessments, establish differential diagnoses, order/evaluate diagnostic studies, and manage procedures.
• Prescribe and regulate medications per NH guidelines.
• Review quality metrics and lead team improvement efforts.

Overview

Join our Surgical Services team at Exeter Hospital as an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive surgical care across the perioperative continuum—including inpatient rounding, Emergency Department consults, and OR first-assist responsibilities. You will work in close collaboration with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
