Job summary

Exeter Hospital is seeking an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the Surgical Services team. The role covers perioperative care, inpatient rounding, ED consults, and OR first‑assist responsibilities in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams.

NPs and PAs in this position will deliver patient‑centered care across the perioperative continuum, provide health assessments, order tests, and contribute to quality improvement while meeting NH

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of directly related surgical experience.
• Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current New Hampshire license (or eligible).
• Prescriptive authority per NH guidelines and appropriate certification.

Responsibilities

• Surgical & OR: Serve as 1st and 2nd surgical assistant in the Operating Room.
• Patient Care & Rounding: Conduct inpatient rounds, manage follow‑up care, perform ED consults, and write progress notes.
• Clinical Management: Perform health assessments, establish differential diagnoses, order/evaluate diagnostic studies, and manage therapeutic procedures.
• Prescribing: Prescribe and regulate medications per NH Board of Pharmacy/Nursing guidelines.
• Quality & Improvement: Review quality/efficiency metrics, lead team improvement efforts, and support specialty certification initiatives.

Overview

Join our Surgical Services team at Exeter Hospital as an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive surgical care across the perioperative continuum—including inpatient rounding, Emergency Department consults, and OR first-assist responsibilities. You will work in close collaboration with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
