NHNPA at Exeter Hospital (Beth Israel Lahey Health) in Exeter, NH, seeks an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to support perioperative care. You will act as 1st/2nd surgical assistant, perform rounds, ED consults, and manage patient care throughout the perioperative continuum.

The role requires 1–3 years of surgical experience, a Master’s degree, and NH licensure (or eligibility). Board certification and BLS are expected, with privileges at Exeter Hospital.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of directly related surgical experience is required.
• Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program is required.
• Current NH license or eligibility to practice.
• Certification: NP-NC or PA-NCCPA, and BLS.
• Eligibility for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges at Exeter Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Serve as 1st and 2nd surgical assistant in the Operating Room.
• Conduct inpatient rounds and ED consults; write progress notes and manage follow-up care.
• Perform health assessments, establish differential diagnoses, order and evaluate diagnostic studies.
• Prescribe and regulate medications per NH guidelines.
• Lead quality improvement efforts and support specialty certification initiatives.

Overview

Join our Surgical Services team at Exeter Hospital as an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive surgical care across the perioperative continuum—including inpatient rounding, Emergency Department consults, and OR first-assist responsibilities. You will work in close collaboration with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

• Certification:

• NP: National certification + RNFA program completion & required OR hours.
• PA: National certification via NCCPA.
• BLS: Current BLS certification.
